We are excited to announce the completion of the migration to the new TABE® user interface (UI). In addition, the new TABE Testlets will be available free of charge on this new UI. TABE Testlets are optional assessments, consisting of high quality field-tested items that are aligned with College and Career Readiness (CCR) Standards. Make your transition to the CCR Standards easier with TABE Testlets. Visit CTB.com/TABETestlets for additional information. We believe you will find this new UI more intuitive, and that it will facilitate a smoother rostering and scheduling experience.
Do You Need Training on the New UI?
The new UI is similar enough to the old UI, but we’ve put together a few extra resources for you to help make the process smooth.
Do TABE Testlets use licenses?
No, TABE Testlets are free and will not affect your license count.
Do I need to install a new Test Delivery Client (TDC)?
Yes, in order to measure the Common Core State Standards, TABE Testlets will use a few technology-enhanced items. We had to bolster the TDC to accommodate these new items, so please uninstall your current TDC, and do a fresh installation of the new TDC.
Will the migration affect the testing of our students?
It will not affect the student test experience; the new UI only affects the administrative portion of TABE. Furthermore, any test that was set up with the old UI will work in the new UI.
Will the migration shut down our testing for any time?
No, your administration site, reports, and ability to test will not require any downtime.
Will the student’s experience change?
No, the testing interface that students see will not change. However, TABE Testlets contain new item types aligned to the College and Career Readiness Standards, which may seem “different” than typical TABE item types. There could be some questions that involve activities like dragging and dropping, or highlighting text. We believe TABE Testlets are a great way to be introduced to these item types.
